Stony Brook 10th Anniversary All Star Galaxy Walkway

Pave your way to the future!

Have your personal inscription placed on a 4″x 8″ brick and be a part of the special edition 10th Anniversary walkway to the Stony Brook Elementary School. Your purchase of a brick will help support the educational programs sponsored by the PTO. The bricks will be installed during the summer. Thanks Stony Brook Community!

Thanks to all of you we were able to raise over $9000.00 from the Brain Game fundraiser and over $750.00 from the Pancake Breakfast to support the Music Department.

This money is being used for improving and enhancing your child′s learning experience at Stony Brook. We will be able to continue supporting activities like assemblies and class trips. Some of the money has already been used to purchase musical instruments and enhance the courtyard teaching area (please go check it out). The money will also be used for supplies for the classroom and for books.

We could not have made this happen if it weren′t for you! You made this happen and be successful through your donations, participation, volunteering or all of the above!

In order to keep the momentum going through 2011/12 we need your help to replace some of the great people who are moving on this year. We have needs in different areas.Check out the volunteer form and see if there is a committee that you may like to be a part of.

Please consider joining us for the 2011/2012 School Year. No experience is required. What is required is a desire to make a difference! You don't have to go it alone. You can pair up with your friends or make new ones! Training and mentoring will be provided!

Our students met the Principal's Reading Challenge by reading for 319,798 minutes! Students and staff are welcome to wear PJ's to school on this day.

Field Day

If rained out, there will be a modified indoor field day. Volunteer assignments can be found on the Stony Brook website beginning May 27th.

2011-2012 Enrichment Programs

We are in the process of trying to plan for our after school enrichment programs for next year. We really want to be able to offer these wonderful programs again, however in order to do this we need more parent volunteers.

The potential programs we would like to offer for next year are: Chess, Karate, Irish Dance, Bollywood Dane, Greek Dance, Cooking Classes, Science, Cheerleading, Agility Training and more.

We know that the students have enjoyed the programs and the parents have as well, so please consider helping us continue with the enrichment programs for next year. If you are interested in helping, contact Shannon Schafer at jsschafer@verizon.net. Please know that your time commitment can be as little or as much as you can give. Thanks!

This fabulous resource is a great way to stay connected with your children′s classmates at Stony Brook. The directory is intended for personal, non-commercial use by Stony Brook families and staff.
