About the SBPTO

WHO WE ARE

The SBPTO is a parent volunteer organization that supports the school by organizing volunteers for various programs and by providing financial assistance through fundraising for field trips, assemblies, playground improvements, classroom materials and other items not available through school funds.

As the parent/guardian of a Stony Brook student, you are automatically a member of the PTO. No registration or payment of dues is required. We encourage you to support the SBPTO and Stony Brook Elementary School by attending meetings and becoming involved. New ideas and suggestions are always welcome!

SBPTO MISSION

To create a community of parents and teachers by building parental involvement in the organization,and supporting teachers in their efforts to educate the children of our community.This mission will be accomplished by:

  • Sponsoring fun and relaxing family events
  • Funding educational programs
  • Creating and fulfilling a yearly ″wish list″
  • Providing forums for parents discuss educational and parenting issues
  • Supporting other activities that promote the best interests of children in the school environment
